NEED

You need to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables to stay healthy.

NEED (verb)
Necesitar, requerir, hacer falta.

NEED (noun)
Necesidad.

I need a long zoom on my camera to take a photo of The Sierra de Guara from my house.

Today I need to go shopping.
I need to buy bread, vegetables and some milk.
I also need some eggs, but I don't need any ice-cream.

My Dad needs to tidy his garden before Winter.  The grass on the lawn is very long, so he needs to cut it.   My Dad is 79 years old, so he needs some help with the gardening!

They need to use a lot of meat and potatoes to make this stew for 100 people.  And they need lots of olive oil, too.

No utilizamos el gerundio (-ing) con NEED.
No decimos nunca: I am needing or I was needing.

I always need a good cup of coffee first thing in the morning!

In November in England you always need to carry an umbrella, because it rains alot!

To make an omelette you need eggs, salt and oil.  You don't need to add cheese, but you can if you want.

En algunos casos podemos usar otros modal verbs en lugar de "need", por ejemplo: Must...(deber de).  Have to...(tener que)  Should...(deber de).
